The headline figure reveals that over 250,000 people participated in recorded cricket activities across the region. This represents a remarkable 37% increase since 2022, signaling that cricket is rapidly moving from a niche pastime to a mainstream sporting option in many European territories.

Of those participants, the core competitive scene is thriving, with 41,500+ hardball cricketers now registered across Europe Associate Members—a jump of 32% in just two years.

Women and Youth Lead the Charge

The most striking growth has come from the women’s game. The ICC data highlights a massive 75% increase in females playing competitive cricket, bringing the total number of female players to over 9,000. This surge reflects successful grassroots initiatives and increased investment in the women’s game across the continent.

Simultaneously, the pipeline for future talent looks stronger than ever. Junior hardball cricket has seen a 42% growth rate, with over 10,000 young players now taking up the sport.
